OMG, I thought $3.85 was bad. I actually told my husband last night that I was seriously considering looking into a scooter for my everyday running around to save on gas. My daughter and I actually hoofed it up to the local Memorial Day Parade today instead of driving, it was a nice twenty minute walk and if you want to be real, we can use the exercise. My thoughts about driving are really changing with each gasoline increase. It was a nice fun morning with my daughter. We had a wonderful opportunity to get some exercise and enjoy the beautiful day and actually have some fun watching the local parade. We saw lots of retired veterans, fire trucks, tractors (lots and lots of tractors), antique cars, horses, lots of waving tiara wearing beauties. It was a great morning and not a drop of gas was used.

Be grateful you don't live in the UK our prices are double yours in the US.The oil companies are making huge profits, people have started demonstrations against this and I hope we will all be involved in it as happened a few years ago.The government take huge taxes on top of the oil price.

Hi Rosemary!
I'm so glad you stopped by.
I knew as I posted this that as a resident of the US, we still enjoy some of the lowest gas prices in the world. I think what has been shocking for me and others is the rapidity with which gas prices have gone up.
I should also mention that the state I live in and the area in that state typically has some of the highest gas prices in the country. Mainly due to taxes from the state. And no one seems to be able to give a satisfactory answer as to why our geographical location is so high. It has always been higher than communities only an hour away.
